Amazon US search volume grew 6% year-over-year (YoY) in September 2024. Though still showing positive growth, this lags slightly behind the 8% growth recorded in both August and July.

Biggest Takeaways for Brands

• Patio, Lawn, & Garden (+15.1%), Grocery & Gourmet Food (+14.7%), and Automotive (+14.6%) categories saw the largest YoY search volume gains
• For the first time in two months, Clothing, Shoes & Jewelry saw a year-over-year increase in search volume. We’re also starting to observe the effects of Amazon’s commission changes on clothing items under $20
  • The amount of individual, under-$20 clothing products offered on Amazon rose 27% from the time the commission change went into effect through August 31st
• Beauty & Personal Care, which led in growth last month, showed more modest growth this period, with a 13.2% year-over-year increase
