This is the sixth of an ongoing series profiling Momentum Commerce team members (MCs for short). Click here to see more of our team, and be sure to check out our open roles!

Before coming to Momentum Commerce, what was your experience in the eCommerce space?

Prior to Momentum Commerce, I had worked in-house in eCommerce for a pet and animal health-focused company. I did a little bit of everything there: Amazon Ads, Google Ads, inventory, content, and search engine optimization. It was exciting to learn the ins and outs of Amazon and look at lots of dog and cat pictures!

What made you want to make the jump to Momentum Commerce?

I was excited by the opportunity to work at a startup while simultaneously working with some of the most established and respected brands in the country.

How would you describe the journey so far?

Dynamic! Every day has been a little different, but I have really enjoyed being able to grow my skill set and contributions to the team. Everyone is very supportive and there is great energy surrounding the whole team.

What’s your favorite work memory?

For a while, our internal teams were called ‘pods’. After mentioning to Jillian how the word ‘pod’ reminded me of whales, our internal team was christened with the name ‘Orca Pod’. Jillian made special orca emojis for our team to use. The naming convention is no longer pod based, but the orca emojis remain an important part of my Slack communication.

What are your favorite things to do outside of work?

I have played ice hockey since I was eight years old and am currently the only woman in my adult league. I just finished my first year of coaching an all-girls youth team. It was a lot of fun!

What’s a fact about you that might surprise some people?

A year ago, I began to compete in pageants! It has been a really cool outlet to meet other passionate and driven young women. I am really looking forward to competing at Miss North Carolina later this year.
